BailaBienBailaBien

Our story

BailaBien was born from a simple conviction: Cuban salsa is passed on better through joy, the circle and community than through performance.

It all started with one basic step. Today we're up to two or three more.

It all starts with a passion for real Cuban salsa, the salsa of casino and rueda, where you dance in a circle and no one needs to come with a partner. Trained at the source and certified in Havana, Simon wanted to pass on this dance the way it's lived in Cuba: warm, full of rhythm, connected to others.

From this desire, BailaBien was born, first in Biel and then in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Two towns, two studios, one and the same approach: classes for every level, from the very first basic step to the most advanced figures, always in good spirits.

Over the seasons, the school grew to include bachata and kizomba, without ever losing its Cuban heart. A team of passionate teachers joined the adventure, each bringing their own style and energy.

Today, BailaBien is as much a community as a school: parties, outings by the lake, encounters and fits of laughter are all part of the journey. You come to learn to dance, and you stay for the vibe.

And yet, BailaBien is only four years old. In that short time, the school is already present in two cantons (Bern and Neuchâtel), offers around 600 hours of classes a year across three dance styles, and organises about twenty parties and events every year. Uncommon growth for such a young school.

Certified at the source

A dance learned at the source

BailaBien's Cuban salsa and bachata come straight from the source: Simon trained in Havana, Cuba, where he earned two official certifications from Cuban schools, including a Salsa Cubana (Casino) instructor diploma. David and Jessica, meanwhile, trained in Barcelona and Madrid with leading bachata references. This isn't dance learned off YouTube and repackaged: it's the real thing, learned on site.
