Kizomba classes in Biel

Kizomba is a dance born in Angola in the 1980s, when the local semba met the zouk coming from the Caribbean and slowed the tempo. It's danced in a close position, but the priority isn't stringing moves together: everything plays out in the connection between the two partners and in the weight transfers from one foot to the other. It's a laid-back dance — and that's precisely where all its charm lies.

At BailaBien, we first teach you to feel that grounding and weight transfer before anything else. No race for complicated figures: we build a solid base, a comfortable frame and genuine body awareness. The rest comes on its own once the connection is there.

A class lasts an hour. We start with a gentle warm-up to wake up your footing, then go back over the basic steps and posture. Then we add a figure or two depending on the level, before moving on to rotation practice: you change partners regularly, and that sharpens your responsiveness far faster than staying in one pair. Mellow music, relaxed mood, zero pressure.

Yes, no problem. We dance in rotation, so you come on your own or with someone, both work. All levels are welcome: from the true beginner who's never danced to the advanced, by way of the false beginners who danced elsewhere a long time ago. And since diving in blind is intimidating, the first trial hour is free, no strings attached.

Kizomba is something we offer only in Biel — nowhere else. Classes take place in the city centre, in our two studios at Rue du Canal 36-38 (3rd floor) and Rue de Morat 7 (1st floor), in the heart of a bilingual city where French and German answer each other. And if you want to mix things up, you can pair laid-back kizomba with the energy of Cuban salsa: in that case, you enjoy -10% on both dances.
