Code of conduct
At BailaBien, we dance for the joy of being together, in an open, warm and safe atmosphere. This code of conduct sums up the spirit that brings us together on the dance floor and the few guidelines that help everyone feel at ease.
1. A safe and caring space
Everyone should be able to dance while feeling safe and respected. Harassment, whether verbal, physical or sexual, has no place here, and neither do inappropriate remarks, unwanted contact or discriminatory comments.
If a situation makes you uncomfortable, or you notice behaviour that doesn't reflect who we are, talk to a member of the team or write to us at info@bailabien.ch. We treat every message with discretion and care.
2. Consent at the heart of partner dancing
Partner dancing involves contact, but that contact always stays in the service of the lead and rests on mutual agreement. Pushy or inappropriate touch has no part in it.
Inviting someone to dance is a pleasure, and a refusal deserves the same respect. A “no” stands on its own: it is accepted with a smile, without pressing and without asking for a reason.
3. Everyone is welcome
Our community draws its strength from its diversity. Every gender identity, every orientation, every age, body shape, background, belief and ability has a place on our floor.
You are free to lead or to follow, as you feel in the moment, and that choice is entirely yours. We respect it, whatever it may be.
4. Courtesy on and around the floor
Dancers, teachers, volunteers: everyone deserves the same attention and the same courtesy. A good atmosphere is built together, in every class and at every party.
Arriving on time helps everyone make the most of the moment. And if a step to the side ends in a little bump, a kind word is almost always enough to smooth it over.
5. Hygiene, a shared comfort
When you dance close to one another, fresh clothes and a little deodorant make all the difference. Taking care of yourself also means taking care of your partners.
Clean shoes kept just for dancing protect both the studio floors and your partners' enjoyment.
6. Advice, only when it is welcome
The urge to help comes from a good place, but unsolicited advice can quickly feel like a lecture. Before sharing feedback with a partner, simply ask whether it is welcome.
Learning itself happens with the teachers during class. On the floor, we dance first and foremost for the joy of it.
7. Alcohol, in great moderation
If you have a drink, do so in great moderation, so that you and everyone around you can keep dancing safely.
Together, let's make BailaBien a place of joy, respect and shared passion. Thank you for keeping this spirit alive, dance after dance.
